Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Social | Spaces app and related services (“the app,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Social | Spaces. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
You sign in using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Keep your device and credentials secure.
3. Acceptable use
Social | Spaces connects real people in live, proximity-based conversations. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, defame, or abuse other people over voice, in zones, or in Spaces.
- Transmit unlawful, hateful, harmful, or sexually exploitative content.
- Use the app to facilitate illegal activity.
- Record, intercept, or redistribute others’ voice or content without consent or in violation of applicable law.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity or location.
- Disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service.
- Spam, advertise, or solicit in a way that interferes with others’ experience.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User-generated content and conduct
You are solely responsible for what you say and share through the app, including live voice in zones and Spaces. Content reflects the views of the person who created it, not Social | Spaces. We do not pre-screen all content and are not responsible for content created by users. We may remove content or restrict access where we believe these Terms have been violated, but we are under no obligation to monitor.
5. Purchases — coins and membership
The app is free to use, and talking is free. Some optional features involve purchases made through Apple’s in-app purchase system:
- Coins are a consumable in-app purchase used to send gift reactions to creators. Once used, coins are consumed and are not refundable except as required by law or Apple’s policies.
- The $9.99/month membership, which unlocks hosting a Space, is offered as a non-renewing consumable. It does not auto-renew. It grants access for the stated period and will not automatically charge you again; to continue, you purchase it again.
All payments are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms. Pricing may change prospectively. Refund requests are handled in accordance with Apple’s policies and applicable law.
6. Location and voice
The app uses your location to deliver proximity-based features and transmits your voice live to other participants when you choose to talk. By using these features you consent to this functionality. See our Privacy Policy for details and your controls.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its software, branding, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them except as permitted. You retain ownership of content you create, and you grant us a limited license to transmit and display it as needed to operate the service.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any conversation or connection will be available.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Social | Spaces and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months or twenty U.S. dollars (US $20).
10. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from Settings → More → Delete my account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to resolve disputes in the courts located there, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
